Get started
You can be on the mesh in about 15 minutes. Start with Meshtastic, since it's the easiest and it's where our repeaters are today.
1. Get a radio
Any 915 MHz Meshtastic device works. See Gear for what we run and recommend.
2. Flash the firmware
Use the Meshtastic web flasher in Chrome or Edge. Pick your device and the latest stable release.
3. Apply our settings
Install the Meshtastic app, set the region to US and follow the Meshtastic settings.
4. Place your antenna well
Height and line of sight beat power. Get the antenna outside or in a high window, away from metal. The Palouse is rolling prairie: ridgelines matter.
5. Say hello
Send a message on the LCAC channel. Coverage is still growing, so you may be the first node in your area.
